Treatment information
Outbreaks are treated with an antiviral tablet course that works best when started early. If outbreaks are frequent, your prescriber may discuss a daily suppressive course. A first episode should be seen in person at a sexual health clinic, which your prescriber will tell you if it applies.
Prescription treatment is only supplied following a clinical assessment. If treatment is not clinically appropriate, you will not be charged for medication.
