Atovaquone and proguanil hydrochloride

Atovaquone and proguanil hydrochloride is a combination antimalarial medication used for both the prevention and treatment of malaria, particularly infections caused by Plasmodium falciparum. 

Administration:

• Take with food or a milky drink to enhance absorption. ​
• If vomiting occurs within one hour of dosing, another dose should be taken.
• Continue using protective measures against mosquito bites, as no antimalarial is 100% effective.
• Consult a healthcare provider for personalized advice, especially when considering use in children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or individuals with existing health conditions.
